An invitation to join us for a free event “Overcoming Barriers to Recording and Learning using ICT”
Wednesday 9 May 2018 3.30 pm – focus for teaching staff. 7.00 pm – focus for parents and carers.
Myles Pilling – Council Member at British Assistive Technology Association (BATA) Ltd, Specialist ICT SEND Consultant for AccessAbility Solutions, AbilityNet County Co-Ordinator, External Lecturer for Bath Spa University. The event will look at:
- • Alternatives to writing using apps that help with reading, writing and studying. We shall look at what is currently available that is free as well as at a cost – mostly low cost! Awareness of what is out there is still very hit and miss so this event hopes to explain how such apps can work both in the school setting and in the home.
- • At the 3.30 pm session – strategies and ways of implementation will be part of a short discussion – for schools.
- • At the 7.00 pm session – practical tools for the home setting and strategies for using ICT with your children – for parents and carers.
