The Wiltshire Wildlife Trust Campaign, Waste Free Feb was created in 2017 by the WWT Recycle for Wiltshire Team to give anyone and everyone the opportunity to take action and make a difference within their environment.
Last year the team managed to limit their general waste to a glass jars worth for a whole month (each person); if it wasn’t recyclable, reusable or compostable it was put in the jar. We are encouraging participants to set their goals, take part for a day, a weekend, a week or a month, whatever suits. Participants are also encouraged to set their waste goal too, have a jam jar, a carrier bag or box as the goal.
The aim is to change behaviours and find alternatives so general waste is at an absolute minimum.
We have created a Wiltshire based and National guide for anyone wanting to take part or just for those wanting some tips on reducing their waste.
Please do get in touch if you would like to discuss the challenge further, we really would like to know if you take part and what your goals will be.
We are on Facebook – Waste Free Feb & Wiltshire Waste Watchers, and Twitter @Slimbins – we will be sharing our journeys as well as additional tips and advice.
