18 March, 2017 11:00 am – 8:00 pm
The fifth annual Bath Men’s Walk in aid of both Bath Rugby Foundation and Dorothy House Hospice Care.
The eight-mile event takes approximately two hours to complete. It starts with registration at Dorothy House Hospice Care in Winsley at 11am and finishes at the Rec, the home of Bath Rugby – with a short detour to The George pub in Bathampton for refreshments! Once at The Rec, walkers are treated to a screening of the day’s Six Nations action and a free pie and a pint. This year walkers will watch both the France v Wales match at 2:45pm and the big one, England v Ireland at 5pm.
Last year, thanks to the efforts of all who took part, the charities raised over £45,000 between them to help their work in the local community. Participants pay £25 for their entry and pledge to raise a further £50 for the charities.
Emily Knight, Event Fundraiser, Dorothy House Hospice Care said: “Last year’s Bath Men’s Walk was a great success with over 560 men and boys taking part, feedback from our walkers is that the event’s become an annual fixture among Bath rugby-goers. It’s also an important fundraiser for both charities and the vital funds raised for Dorothy House will enable us to provide patients and their families with the specialist palliative and end of life care they need when it matters most.”
